The Best Italian Recipe
My name is Maria and my site is about the Veneto region of Italy. Some of my favorite recipes are from this region, which is the region my family is from, but the best recipes in Italy are not from Venice or the Veneto.
Most of the best Italian recipes in my opinion are from Piedmont which has arguably Italy's finest cuisine (most other Italian regions would definitely argue ;-)).
Piedmont also has some of the best wines with great names like Barolo coming hailing from here.
My husband and I lived in Piedmont for close on ten years and the variety of dishes from the Piedmont region is incredible, everything from fabulous pasta (agnolotti in particular is superb), world famous truffles to great desserts.
It was really hard to keep in shape while living there, the food was so good we just couldn't stop eating. Luckily though a lot of the food is really healthy and not too fattening. Click here to view some delicious recipes from Piedmont.

There are great classics from nearly all regions of Italy though.
Dishes like pizza from Naples, tiramisu from Veneto and from Emilia-Romagna (another contender for top foodie region in Italy) that great Italian dish of lasagna (click for a great and very authentic lasagna recipe).
Let's face it lasagna has to be near the top of any list of Italian recipes and it definitely is right there near the top of mine.
I would like to put together a list of the top twenty Italian recipes, as chosen by visitors to my site, but I need you to tell me which are your favorite Italian recipes and dishes?
