The Best Italian Cookbook
Italy has, in my humble opinion, the best cuisine in the world yet so
few Italian recipe books ever get much beyond pasta and pizza.
In Italy there are literally millions of cook books focusing on every nuance of Italian cooking.
Pity though that very few have ever been translated into English.
To overcome that I have spent ages searching for the best Italian cookbook - those translated into or written in English.
Let me share the results of all those long hours of research.
Four books guaranteed to bring to you the real taste of Italy...
The Silver Spoon
The Best Italian cookbook ever written? I am not sure if that
definition, which is so often given to this great book, is quite
justified but if there is one classic book about Italian food and
cooking, that every lover of Italian recipes must have, then it is this
book. No other Italian cookbook is anywhere near as comprehensive.

Veneto: Authentic Recipes from Venice and the Italian Northeast
It is always surprising how few good recipe books there are focusing on
the excellent cuisine of Venice and the Veneto. In English this is
definitely the best one I have discovered. Even if you don't feel much
like cooking don't worry as this is a beautiful book for your coffee
table too. Packed full of the most evocative photos of the Veneto it
will have you longing to visit this splendid corner of Italy.

La Cucina: The Regional Cooking of Italy
The best Italian cookbook you will find in English in my opinion. Unless
you really want to become an expert on Italian food then this is the
only Italian recipe book you will ever need. Full of easy to make
genuine Italian recipes passed down through generations, this book is a
true gem.

Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking
Much like La Cucina, the Essentials of Classic Italian cooking
brings "real Italian cooking" to the English speaking world. Some of the
recipes in this book are just so delicious they will drive you quite
crazy with delight. All in all a lovely book packed full of authentic
recipes for many the very best of Italian dishes.
