Flights to Venice
Getting flights to Venice from the USA and Australia is not difficult; it is getting there cheaply that is the difficult part.
Getting to Venice from the States
When it comes to flying from the United States to Venice, there are several airlines to choose from, offering different routes and options for travelers. As of my last check, the selection included ITA (Italy's national carrier), British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Continental, American Airlines, Delta, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways.
It's important to note that most flights from the United States to Venice are not direct and require a layover or transfer somewhere in Europe. This means that you'll have the opportunity to explore another city or country along the way, which can add an exciting element to your journey. However, it's essential to consider the additional travel time and potential fatigue that comes with connecting flights.
If you prefer a more direct route, airlines like Delta, American, and ITA offer nonstop flights to Venice. While these direct flights can be more convenient, they often come at a higher cost compared to flights with layovers. It's worth considering your budget and preferences when deciding which option works best for you.
When planning your trip to Venice, it's recommended to compare prices, check for any ongoing promotions, and consider factors such as flight duration, layover duration, and overall convenience. Additionally, keep in mind that flight availability and routes can vary depending on the time of year and airline schedules.
In terms of cheap prices it is a case of shopping around for current deals. I use a site called Dollar Flight Club for this.

Getting to Venice from Australia & New Zealand
There are numerous airlines that offer flights to Venice, but the airfares may not always be budget-friendly. To find the best deals, I recommend shopping around and comparing prices.
Emirates is a popular choice among Australians and New Zealanders, offering exceptional service and reasonable prices. With their extensive network and modern fleet, they provide a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience. Qatar Airways is another excellent option, known for its high standards of service and spacious legroom, even in economy class. They often have competitive fares and offer a range of routes to Italy.
For those seeking a more affordable option, Air China can be a good choice. They offer reasonably priced flights with a layover in Beijing, allowing you to explore the vibrant capital city before continuing your journey to Italy. Air France is also worth considering, as they frequently run promotions and provide a well-regarded service.
Personally, when traveling below the equator, my preferred choice is Emirates. They provide excellent service and offer reasonable prices. Last year, I had the opportunity to fly with Qatar Airways as well, and I was highly impressed. My husband, who is 6 feet and 3 inches tall, particularly praised the legroom, stating it was the best he had ever experienced in economy class.
When planning your trip, it's important to keep in mind that airfares can vary depending on factors such as the time of year, availability, and any ongoing promotions. It's advisable to start your search early and compare prices
